Originally from the Midwest, I've lived in nine states, including Georgia where I've made my home for almost a decade. When I'm not writing or working, I can often be found walking the tree-lined roads and wooded paths of my lakeside neighborhood with my yellow Lab, Sam, or cooking a big meal for my extended family on the weekends.
I'm a graduate of Messiah College in Pennsylvania where I earned a B.A. in English, with a minor in business at my mom's insistence (and I was one cross-cultural trip away from having a second minor in French). Mid-career, I went back to school and earned a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law (Go Gamecocks!).
My first love was poetry and fiction, especially mystery stories, but my first published book was a nonfiction passion project, Child of Divorce, Child of God (InterVarsity Press, 2008). Thanks to the inspiration of the best group of writer friends a girl could ask for, my muse has crept back into my life over the past few years and I'm currently writing a mystery series set in a lakeside community.
